    Educator Reviews – Pros

      • Great for engagement
      • Research-based and proven to increase engagement of girls and other underrepresented populations
      • Low floor, High ceiling - adaptable for use in mid-elementary grades through HS/College
      • Easy for teachers to learn to use
      • Allows for coding + engineering + content
      • Perfect for integration into full range curricular offerings -- not just technology for technology's sake. Deepens students' understanding of core content while learning coding and engineering
      • Designed to be used with partners; develops/enhances collaboration skills
      • Duo has arduino board on back for a variety of extended functions
      • Duo with microbit + adapter allows for untethered projects
      • Hummingbird Bit allows for great flexibility-untethered projects
      • Great tool for both block and text-based coding
      • Teaching tools, lesson plans, and professional support are readily available Feedback 13:  Can be used with an array of devices and languages (both block and text-based)
      •  Aligned to standards
      • Versatile and supports creativity
      • Locally developed! Bit has tons of creative potential and part of the fun is designing your robot. Lots of support from Birdbrain Technologies available on their website

    Educator Reviews – Cons

      • Cost since you should keep to a low student to device ratio
      • Can be hard to manipulate and needs fine motor skills kids may not have developed yet. Coding may require consistent adult support
